A vision board as the name suggests is a great way to visualise and focus on what you want in your life. As mentioned this is my vision board. I have cut out words and pictures of what is relevant to me and what I want to achieve in my life. You can also use photos, affirmations, screen dumps from web sites You can also create them digitally - one such program is Pinterest - which I am currently looking into. Display your vision board in your room in a prominent place - so you see it before you go to sleep and just after you awake. |
A gratitude journal can be a simple notebook or exercise book. It can also be a journal purchased from any stationery store or in an electronic format. The idea is to write down anything good or positive that happened each day. Either start by saying "I am grateful for..." or "Thank you for...". This can be from the smallest thing - such as someone buying you a cup of coffee, catching the bus in time or not having to wait in line very long. When we focus and concentrate on the small things in a positive way and show gratitude more good things will come our way. What we focus on we attract. |
Mind mapping is similar to a desire statement but done in a more visual way. You can do a mind map for a specific area of your life or you can do one that includes each area of your life with the centre of it being YOU. The idea is to start in the middle of a page and then branch into sections or segments that allow you to build on previous ideas and keep expanding into more and more detail. The more prominent the idea or suggestion the closer to the middle it will be. Because it is more in a picture format you are using both sides of the brain and remember it more easily. |
