Map Out Your Content

As I am putting together the 12 Weeks 12 Posts workshop, it is really helping me to map out my relevant content to help small businesses get more visible also.

The great thing is that this process chunks down the different aspects required into small steps which can reduce  the overwhelm you may be feeling when creating a new product, course, service or to showcase your business.

Below are some steps n regards to mapping out content required - creating a sales funnel or journey your prospective clients could take, creating a landing page, creating a link to payment, creating a thank you page, creating content for your event, repurposing your content and so on.

  • Set a date and time to create a free online or offline event
  • Create a guide or cheat sheet that will help you stay on track and time with at least a few dot points
  • Identify what the next course of action will be - ie is the event to be used as a lead magnet to guide potential prospects into becoming a customer by purchasing something from you - first step of your sales funnel.
  • Create a landing page within your website or use a link to an existing page if already created
  • Ensure payment links are also created
  • Create a thank you page
  • Decide how you will promote the event - newsletter, social media - different platforms, ads or a  mixture of each
  • Host and record your presentation - you may be able to repurpose this content as an encore presentation, future promotion or chunk down into additional marketing content and/or blog posts
  • Seed and sell throughout your presentation - mention the product or service that you may be offering
  • At the end of the presentation - showcase the next step you are inviting  your prospects to take - lead them to your offer
  • Consider using a follow up strategy using blogs, emails, text or messenger - this also relates to your sales funnel
  • You may consider using cross links in your posts, social media or email to drive traffic to your offer.  In addition you may put a link on the blog template area (real estate) that will also encourage me to have a look at your offer.

Remember:  your prospects may not be ready right now to buy from you as it can now take up to 20 touch points for them to feel comfortable before they make a purchase.  It doesn't mean that they won't buy from you at a later stage.

These are the steps that I have done so far:

  • Set the intent by creating the event as a free event/presentation - set date and time - this was online and I shared it to my two different Facebook Groups
Picture
  • Identified the content to be used for the initial event/presentation.  For me it was the Power of Blogs guide that was uploaded to my first blog post - The Power of Blogs after the event.  I initially had created the blog post and had the workshop date in it - then after the event I added the guide as a free resource and updated my blog post.
Picture
  • After creating the guide and before hosting the initial presentation I had to also consider what the next action step could be for my potential prospects to become customers.   I had added an offer for a 12 Weeks 12 Posts Workshop which will start in April.
Picture
  • That lead me to then creating a landing page that included the offer.  I had to set up payment buttons and also a thank you page to send them back to once payment had been made.
Picture
  • After mapping out my blog post topics, I have added some call to actions and/or cross links on the blog template (static real estate on the blog page) and within each blog post so far.  I also added categories so I could add tags to each post.
  • I also have now created an image for each blog post using a template created in Canva - same format just change the wording for each post.  The next blog post will be "The Forgotten Thank You Page & Calls to Action".
Picture
  • I share each blog post to my main business Facebook Page, sometimes my profile and three different Facebook Groups - two of them being my own and another one business network that I am involved with.

I will also look at doing the following:
  • Sharing to other platforms such as Instagram and LinkedIn.
  • Creating an email automation sequence and/or follow up strategy
  • Facebook Ads or other ways to promote

Map Out Your Blog Posts

As part of my upcoming workshop 12 Weeks 12 Posts I thought a great place to start was to map out your blog posts over the next 12 weeks.  You can then either create a blog each week or do them in batches.

A great way to start is to use the inbound methodology.  The inbound methodology is the method of growing your organisation by building meaningful, lasting relationships with consumers, prospects, and customers. It’s about valuing and empowering these people to reach their goals at any stage in their journey with you
.
source Hubspot - What is the Inbound Methodology

Let's look at what you are already doing.  How are you attracting prospects or your perfect customers?  Are you having trouble reaching people?  Are you able to identify the problems, obstacles and emotions that your ideal client may be experiencing and can you offer a solution?

Have you mapped out your customer journey for each service, product or offer that you offer?  How are you getting your message out to any one that may be interested?

Mapping out your customer journey and the content then needed is a great way to create a marketing strategy using blogs, social media, email marketing and building up your content as you go.  It is a great way to chunk down each stage and reduce your overwhelm.   Mapping out your blog content will help drive traffic (people) to your website to build up the know, like and trust factor.

I have now mapped out my blog posts - the first one already created being - The Power of Blog Posts

This post Map out your blog posts is the second in this series.  The other topics will be:
  • Map out your content - what needs to be created
  • Map out your customer journey - from where they are now to the outcome they will achieve
  • Map out your value ladder - different price points of your products and services
  • Creative tools - tools or apps that make it easier to create content
  • Batching, scheduling and cross pollinating - streamline the process and share
  • Inbound marketing strategy - build up the know, like and trust factor by identifying what your prospects or customers are struggling with
  • Repurposing your content - different ways to showcase and re use your content
  • Case studies, stories and testimonials - validation - show what you do
  • The forgotten thank you page and using calls to actions - inviting prospects or customers to take the net step
  • Feedback, celebration, rinse and repeat

The Power of Blog Posts

Let's build the KNOW, LIKE and TRUST factor for your business by  being strategic and giving value in advance.  Let's start with the end outcome in mind, being focused on creating your ideal customer framework and value ladder TOGETHER!!!   Let's start by making our website work for us by using the power of blogs.

  • How do you start driving people to your SITE?
  • What happens if the social media channels you are currently using shut down unexpectedly?  You could lose all of your content and your connections.
  • How many of us have done countless posts in social media and given a ton of information away but it leads to nowhere?
  • How can you reverse engineer the products and services you will offer to your ideal clients without being salesy?
  • How can you build up the know, like and trust factor so your ideal clients want to work with you or buy a product from you?

By posting at least ONE blog post a week over the next 12 Weeks, this will get you into a good habit of posting regularly, build your confidence, your network and your skills.   Use your blog posts to do the heavy lifting for you.  It is the hub which can then be shared across your different social media platforms, turned into a newsletter, repurposed and cross pollinated to your email list, help build up interest and keep your website fresh.

You can do different types of blogs:
  • Create a VLOG (video blog) which could be a short sharp VIDEO SNIPPET under 2 mins which can then be transcribed.
  • You can do a behind the scenes or teaser snippets of your latest product, service or offering and include links to your product/services pages.
  • Case studies or testimonials are also a great way to share as a blog.
  • Create a blog post that includes links to other blog posts you have already created.

Stay focused on attracting YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS and getting leads FIRST by solving a problem.  From there work on creating your customer framework and value ladder.

On your template that is used to create each blog (real estate) use the space to add your calendar links or other calls to actions.

Is your life out of whack

Do you feel overwhelmed, stressed, tired, that there is not enough hours in the day?

Are you struggling to find time for yourself?

What makes you feel confident and your heart soar?  What action steps can you start taking towards changing your life for the better - now?

By allowing yourself just 15 minutes each day to work on and plan what you want more in your life you can achieve this - you are worth it and you deserve it.

A way to make a good start to the life you really want to live and how you want to live it is to go through the BE, DO, HAVE process.
First you "be" the thing called "happy" (or "knowing," or "wise," or "compassionate," or whatever), then you start "doing" things from this place of beingness -- and soon you discover that what you are doing winds up bringing you the things you've always wanted to "have."

Neale Donald Walsh - Conversations with God
Have you found that by thinking and doing the same things over and over, things don't change.  You still deal with the same things or lessons over and over.  You stay in your "safe zone" your "comfort zone" and things stay the same.

Act “as if” your goal has already been achieved!   The person you have been, is not going to think, act and react in a way that is going to get you to your goal. Change the process… Be the person who you would be if you already had achieved your goal, then you will do the things that a successful person would do, which will allow you to have exactly what you want. (source unknown)

We can do this together - one step at a time.

Let's look at your life balance wheel how it is currently.  Below is one that I liked because it included home cooking, joy, spirituality, creativity as well as the other main areas.  Create your own balance wheel either using this as an example or change the topics if you want.   Starting from the centre of the circle put a cross or dot in each section to indicate where you are currently at (1 being the lowest from the inner part of the circle to 10 being the highest from the outer part of the circle).

Don't be surprised if your Life Balance Wheel looks like the example below.

Now we have a base plan to work on improving some of those areas of your life - one step at a time.  If you would like some help with this schedule a chat with me.
