Your turnover is OK and your customers are happy and keep coming back, but you still feel less than excited about your business.  It’s not that you have lost you passion, you just have less motivation than you used to or feel you should.  Many people in business today are women and they are juggling.  They are still expected (either by themselves or their partners) to keep house, bring up kids and run their businesses on their own.  Us women know that is an unreal expectation for anyone to have on us let alone on ourselves.  We try this for a while and then we get frustrated or overwhelmed or snowed under or a combination of all these.  A partners may say that our goals are unrealistic, but we know there is great potential and limitless possibilities available ‘out there’ and available to us.  So it is not that we are being unrealistic about, but we don’t have time and/or the energy to see what is really happening in our businesses.  READ MORE...

About Tara:

Tara has a compassionate, friendly and outgoing personality.  She is approachable and has an eye for detail (sometime even the hidden ones about people).  Tara is an astute person who has an uncanny ability to sniff out people and situations, sometimes before they materialise (perhaps part of putting the puzzle pieces together).  She often senses things and goes with her intuition and ingenuity.

Her rational, broad mind and lateral thinking often see many sides to situations, problems and challenges.  She is not phased much by challenges, in fact love helping others through theirs.

The balance of optimism, common sense and wisdom is rare in business coaches.  Her hunger for life is inspiring and will challenge you to be your best.

She is an upbeat and charismatic speaker and trainer.

Filling the Empty Shell - Rachpal Tulsi

On a recent outdoor trail-walk, I chanced upon a rubber pod with the seed lying neatly on the track, as if waiting for a human to chance upon it and pick it up. But alas! minutes later I lost the seed to a monkey and all I was left with was the empty pod. Huffing in anger I walked off to the the car and there I saw three flame-of-the-forest seeds. Not believing in coincidences, I picked the seeds up and put them in the pod and drove home.

Now, you must be wondering where is this story heading and the link to coaching?

Many times clients come to me because that’s how they feel – like an empty shell. They are tired and worn out. The seed that represents growth and renewal has been stolen by the metaphorical “monkey” – the everyday stressors like balancing work-life, keeping abreast with changes in life and work or managing people in life and work.  It doesn’t matter if you have spent years training for the job you have been working at relentlessly for the past decade or that you have a whole string of qualifications, the “monkeys’ are always lurking, mischievously waiting to distract you. First it starts with answering emails after work hours, then on the weekends; slowly you start bringing work home and you have less time for the fun things you used to do; the family or partner starts to complain that you’re spending less time with them; you feel worn out; work starts feeling like a chore and you start planning your exit.

And what do you do? You fill the empty shell with the same seed, going back to the same type of work, just another organisation and six months or a year later, the monkeys reappear. The vicious cycle continues.

How do you break the vicious cycle? Coaching is one good way as the coach helps you identify the “monkeys” that are distracting you the issues that are causing the dissatisfaction in your life and work your work preferences your lifestyle preferences your personality traits your values and beliefs. So instead of filling the empty shell with the same seed and getting the same result, get a coach to develop your new work-life strategy.

Women Overcoming Under Earning Part 1 - Clare Lavender

When you are dealing with financial hardship, life can really suck. Financial scarcity, mounting debt, feeling overwhelmed by your under-earning ability and unable to meet your necessary expenses can bring about an enormous amount of fear, anxiety and stress.  What’s more, financial hardship places so many restrictions on experiencing all life has to offer. Your world can become so very small and closed in. You feel as though you have fewer choices.  Fewer choices and much less freedom.

Causes

A sudden job loss, a severe illness, the death of a partner, the failure of a business venture, or in my case, a divorce, and before you know it, you find yourself experiencing financial scarcity. Financial security  suddenly seems to be a thing of the past and now unattainable.

Inner Work

When faced with any sort of crisis, the soul searching often begins.  The inner work can be so important to healing and the recovery of the emotional scars. The inner journey is all well and good, you might say, but everyday life goes on. You can also have children to provide for, or the responsibility for others so you do need to take a practical action.  READ MORE...

How Can I Stop Living So Small - Allie Atkinson

I have vulnerability issues. I literally never, ever feel safe in the world. As you can imagine, this causes many problems for me in day to day life, but it seems to be making the creating of a business next to impossible.

I am sick of this self-sabotage and I want to play bigger, but when it comes down to fundamental belief systems, you can’t just do a couple of sessions with a Life Coach or spend a week or two on it!

I have spent the last 5 years working on this on a daily basis and I am only just getting to a place where I can see a glimmer of possibility. That’s pretty big! I am tired of people telling me that it’s easy to fix and seeing me as faulty. Guess what guys, that’s my issue and if you continue to see me that way, how am I ever meant to get better?

As many people know from their own childhoods, that there are many families that function with the philosophy that ‘children are neither seen, nor heard’. As an only child whose parents worked long hours, I learnt to live in my own world, to be independent. That is not natural for me, (I am an ENFP and need a lot of people time) but as a highly sensitive person, it was the only way to cope.

I am scared to live big, it is so ingrained in me to be in the background, to meet other people’s needs and to not have any of my own, that I struggled for many years to even have a personality of my own! These days I am living authentically ME and I am a whirlwind of ‘Allie’ but still, every time that I come out of my shell, I get extremely vulnerable and need to cave again, sometimes for weeks, or even months! before I can summon enough bravery to try again.  READ MORE...
